Special Moment of Reflection
Walking out toward the motion W again, I felt it - the same nerves, the same gratitude. This time, I wasn’t suiting up, but walking alongside those who were. And in that moment, I found myself reflecting…
This past weekend, I had the privilege of serving as an honorary captain for the Wisconsin vs. Middle Tennessee State football game. Standing on that field, surrounded by the energy of Camp Randall and the legacy of Badger football again, was surreal.
But what made it truly special wasn’t the honorary captain label, it was the pause it created. - A moment to reflect on the relationships, memories, and quiet contributions that made it all possible.
From coaches who developed and believed in me…
To teammates who showed me what the standard looks like…
To family and friends who were and continue to be a steady foundation through every high and low…
And God, who orchestrated it all - for His glory.
This honor wasn’t just mine… It was a reflection of every person who’d poured into me, challenged me, and walked alongside me on the journey.
To make it even sweeter, experiencing the day with Rachel, our four boys and my entire family, is something I’ll never forget.
Moments like this remind me: leadership doesn’t have to be loud. It’s consistent. It’s relational. It’s authentic. And it’s built over time.
Grateful for the opportunity and humbled by the journey.
To all those who helped make it possible - thank you!
