Power Of Perspective
We never truly know what someone else might be going through in their life.
At the Rock Valley Conference Leadership Summit this past week, we were working through examples of adversity - connecting, sharing and supporting one another in how challenges can become opportunities. Reflecting on difficult situations in our lives, finding nuggets of appreciation within these challenges.
Adversity can be an “advantage” when we choose to learn, grow, evolve and find gratitude through the journey.
At the conference, one young man stepped forward with courage. He shared how he had recently been navigating a tough family situation - running away from home due to a complex situation, being adopted by a new family and finding stability in a new situation.
Despite it all, he carried a smile, a tone of thankfulness and an aura of resilience.
His story gave everyone in the room perspective…
He had stayed positive and it helped him through his situation. By stepping out and sharing, he started a ripple effect that helped others around him too - myself included.
Reminding us all that gratitude and resilience can turn a hardship into hope.
Next time you face frustration, take a second to pause and focus on what you can control - your attitude, thankfulness and mindset. Not afraid to share your journey with those around you, to seek support and to provide perspective to those around you.
Remember - perspective can change everything.
